A steady kicking display from Marshall Security Crusaders' centre, Cameron Dunlop, ensured a hard fought 16-11 victory for them over the FNB Ukzn Impi in round four of the Fidelity Security Moor Cup. The centre, responsible for the kicking duties, kicked three penalties and a conversion to give the Durban North outfit a hard-fought victory in a closely-contested match.

The KZNRU/Sharks are very saddened to hear of the passing of Graham Downes, an ex-Natal rugby player who represented the province as a prop on 44 occasions from 1983 to 1985. This included the Currie Cup Final at Newlands in 1984.

A superb 75th- minute penalty from Collegians flyhalf, Duncan Campbell, gave SA Home Loans Durban Collegians a 31-28 victory over Varsity College RFC at Riverside. In what can only be described as a tense final period with both teams locked on 28 points, the Collegians flyhalf coolly slotted home the late penalty in the rain to hand his team a crucial bonus-point victory.

It was an error-strewn performance from last season's Moor Cup runners-up, but they had enough in the tank to carry them through to make it two wins in a row.

Varsity College ran riot at KINGS PARK on Friday evening beating Oxford Wentworth Harlequins 52-20, which for their new coaching staff under Sam Vermaak and Grant Simpson would have been a most pleasing result in the opening round of the Fidelity Security Moor Cup, although they know all too well there is still a long road ahead and there can be no doubt one cannot really gauge the true strengths of the clubs after just one round.

SA Home Loans Durban Collegians won the inaugural Flya Invitational Club Rugby knockout tournament hosted by Marshall Security Crusaders at their home grounds in Ranleigh Crescent Durban North. Collegians beat the hosts 25-13 in a gruelling encounter, which saw the home side outscore Crusaders by three tries to one so winning their first trophy of the season. An invitational Jonsson College Rovers XV secured third place by beating Varsity College 22-8 in the earlier playoff game.

Jonsson College Rovers were recently greeted with the news that they will fielding an almost full complement from their National Club Championship squad as they now prepare to take on the best of South Africa’s club rugby sides in the inaugural Community Cup, which sees the National Club Champions hosting the opening match on their home turf at Reebok Park (KP 3) on 16 February 2013. Rovers Chairman Kevin Carolan was pleased to announce that the bulk of his squad have committed to representing the club in this the inaugural competition that will be run in unison with the Varsity Cup competition culminating in the winners of both competitions facing each other in a final on Easter Monday 1 April after the playoffs have been finalised over the Easter Weekend, hopefully bringing back those wonderful memories of the National Toyota Easter Rugby tournaments of yesteryear.
Rovers will be hoping to host as many of their old boys as possible at an official launch of the Community Cup competition the date to be announced shortly.

Jonsson College Rovers clinched a fourth consecutive Castle Murray Cup on Saturday after defeating a gutsy Telnet Crusaders 27-21 in the final. Rovers held their nerve after overcoming a severe test of character from their opponents in what can only be described as a great advert for club rugby.

The Fixtures programme for Knockout Finals Day on Saturday 25 August 2012 has been finalised after all the knockout rounds have been completed. All matches will be played at Varsity College Rugby Football Club, Riverside Sports, Prospect Hall Road, Durban North.
Rovers power past Collegians to set up Crusaders final

A dominant second half display from Jonsson College Rovers saw them overcome their old adversaries Acer Durban Collegians 33-6 in the first Castle Murray Cup semi-final at Riverside on Friday evening. The victory saw Rovers storm their way into the final where they will clash with Telnet Crusaders who defeated Thanda / Waterstone Zululand Rhinos 20-13 in the second semi-final.

Jonsson College Rovers and Telnet Crusaders have found themselves through to the final of the Castle Murray knockout competition next Saturday after winning their hard fought semi-final club rugby matches at Riverside on Friday evening.

An enthusiastic crowd cheered Jonsson College Rovers and Telnet Crusaders through to the final of the Castle Murray Cup at Riverside after the pair saw off brave challenges from Durban Collegians and Thanda/ Waterstone Zululand Rhinos in their respective semi-finals on Friday evening.
The Final will take place at Riverside on Saturday 25 August and a big crowd is expected with a full programme of finals rugby.
